8th Annual NHMRC Symposium
November 19, 2019 - November 20, 2019
From the 19-20th November, 2019 the 8th Annual NHMRC Symposium will be held in Melbourne.
The theme will be ‘Research Translation in the digital age: harnessing the power of data and analytical technologies’. This is an area of health that has gone from strength to strength over the past few years and is an area of growth for many research groups and organisations. It is also an area of focus for the Australian Government, with the establishment of the Australian Digital Health Agency and recognition of ‘Data and infrastructure—digital health intelligence’ as a priority for the Medical Research Future Fund.
During this Symposium, we want to reflect on how we might optimise the use of health and medical research data to inform health care policy and practice. We want to address the opportunities and challenges offered to us in this new age as well as looking at how we can overcome the barriers to effective data linkage for the purposes of health and medical research. We also focus on the social, legal and ethical aspects of the impact of the digital age on health.
Research4Me will be attending on the 20th November. Janelle has the privilege of helping present a poster on behalf of the ACTA Consumer Engagement Reference Group, about the ACTA/CT:IQ Consumer Engagement Toolkit – an interactive website of guides and tools to support consumer engagement throughout the lifecycle of clinical trials. Research4Me would like to thank ACTA for covering Janelle’s conference registration fees for the 20Nov for this purpose.
