The Australian Clinical Trials Alliance (ACTA) are holding the ACTA International Conference 2019 in Sydney on 2-5 October, and Janelle will be attending.

The conference will bring together of a broad range of Australian and international experts in the cutting edge design and conduct of clinical trials, clinical data and registry custodianship, healthcare funding, policy and regulation, healthcare service delivery, health information technology, health economics, and patient advocacy.

The underlying theme of the ACTA International Conference 2019 is Better health through best evidence and will provide a platform to bring together national and international stakeholders to discuss global advances in the development of self-improving healthcare systems. The program will address embedding clinical trials in clinical care, novel trial designs and conduct, maximising the value of clinical registries and improving public awareness and consumer involvement in clinical research.

Established in 2013, ACTA promotes effective and cost-effective health care in Australia through clinical trials that generate evidence to support decision making by health practitioners, policy-makers and consumers.

ACTA has covered the registration costs of 5 health consumers to attend the conference, and plans to launch at the conference the Consumer Engagement Toolkit developed with support/finding through CT:IQ/MTPConnect. This project has been supported by the ACTA Consumer Engagement Reference Group of which Research4Me is a member.
