Interested or involved in medical research and clinical trials as a patient/carer/consumer rep? Are you a researcher or organisation involving people (or wanting to) in your research?

Research4Me is committed building a community interested, engaged and supported to get involved (or involve people) in research. We bring people together online and in person to connect, learn, share experiences, answer questions, raise issues, and find/share opportunities to participate in or get involved in research.

Who is this gathering for?

You are invited to attend this gathering on 11Dec19 if you would like to share and network with us and others that believe patients and those around them should be involved in medical research to help speed it up, improve the participant experience, and generate the knowledge and products patients are looking for.

Patients, carers, consumer organisations, research professionals, commercial and non-commercial organisations involved in research and other interested stakeholders are all welcome.

What’s its purpose?

Come to listen and meet people, but better still, come to share your own questions, experience and ideas around what involving people in research can look like – the good, the bad, the challenging and inspiring, and help inform our work in 2020.

Format

To keep it small and friendly, numbers will be limited to 30 people, split evenly between those representing the consumer experience and research professional experience to ensure a diversity of views.

The gathering will start with a short introduction from Research4Me about the topic and where we fit in. Over the remaining time we will invite people to briefly share their questions, thoughts and experiences around the topic to stimulate discussion, wrapping up with a light lunch over which discussion and networking can continue.

Those unable to attend in person for personal reasons (health, location, caring responsibilities, etc), will be able to view the meeting online via Zoom meeting. Unless otherwise approved via email request, you must be a member of the Research Gamechangers Facebook Group to access the Zoom link (posted the night before the meeting).

Ticket cost

A minimal ticket price has been set to help cover catering costs. However, if  the cost will prevent you attending, particularly if you are primarily a health consumer, then please contact us to request the discount code for a free ticket.

Not sure who we are?

Perhaps you’ve never heard of Research4Me and aren’t sure what we are  really about, so don’t know if you should come along. That’s OK. We’d like to think we are pretty transparent about our purpose, and invite you to decide for yourself by checking out our website and social media channels. Better yet, join our Research Gamechangers Facebook Group and see the types of things we and our Tribe are talking about. Maybe you’ll be ready to come along the next time we hold a gathering.
